Monisha Perkash, Co-founder and CEO
Monisha Perkash is a first-generation immigrant with a personal understanding of the value
of a college education, and how it is the key ingredient to unlocking a lifetime of individual and financial advancement.
As a high school student with limited knowledge of the college application process, Monisha was lucky enough to receive
the attention of a teacher who encouraged her to shoot for the stars when it came time to apply to college, and not
worry about how to pay for it. Monisha became a major beneficiary of the financial aid system.
Thanks to that teacher, and his ability to shake the money tree, many doors have opened for Monisha. Today,
she'd like to make the same financial opportunities that were available to her equally accessible to all students
who apply for college.
Monisha has always been passionate about the opportunities education provides. She began her career
with AmeriCorps, developing and leading educational programs for underserved youth in the California Bay Area.
Since then Monisha has developed online educational and training programs for both start-up and established
companies, including Siebel Systems. Monisha's background includes providing strategic guidance to KIPP
(Knowledge is Power Program) and to a number of other national education initiatives. At The College Company,
Monisha applies her deep technical experience with online solutions to improve access to the college funding
process.
Monisha earned her MBA and MA Education degrees from Stanford and her BA in psychology and biology from Yale.
